PE and Sport Premium

The Government provides extra money to schools to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils so that they develop healthy lifestyles. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools, but we have the freedom to choose how we do this. In the last year this has included:

  • hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with our teachers during PE lessons
  • supporting and involving children by running after-school sports clubs
  • providing resources and training courses in PE and sport for teachers
  • running sport competitions and increasing pupils’ participation in the School Games
  • running sports activities with other schools.

Corpusty received £8442 in 2016 to 2017 and has an allocation of £8150 for 2017 to 2018.

The table below shows how the Sports Funding been used this year and who has benefitted.
